Updated: On October 9, 2020, the USDA extended flexibilities to allow free meals to continue to be available to all children throughout June 30, 2021. This unprecedented move is part of USDA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring all children across America have access to nutritious food as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opelika City Schools is excited to announce that as of September 1, 2020 ALL school meals (breakfast and lunch) for ALL students will be served free of charge. Due to the pandemic, the USDA passed a waiver that provides free meals to all students through December 31, 2020 based on available USDA funds.

Any money in your student's account will remain in his/her account to be used after December. Meals for virtual students will continue to be distributed on Mondays from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Jeter Primary School.

Parents, if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete the application form at . It is important that this form is completed prior to January 2021 to retain your status.
