Opelika High School Graduation Information for Families and Guests

Opelika High School will celebrate the Class of 2026 on Friday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
Families and guests are encouraged to review the following information before arriving so that the graduation evening is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
Ceremony Information
- The Opelika High School graduation ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
- Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, entry, and security screening.
- Graduating seniors should report to OPAC at 6:00 p.m.
Safety and Clear Bag Policy
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for graduates, families, and guests, all attendees will pass through metal detectors before entering Bulldog Stadium. Guests must also follow the OCS Graduation Clear Bag Policy.
Permitted items include:
- Clear bags up to 12” x 6” x 12”
- Small non-clear clutches no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
- Sealed water bottles
Prohibited items include:
- Weapons, including pocket knives
- Non-clear bags larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
- Bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
- Outside food or beverages, except for sealed water bottles
Exceptions will be made for diaper bags for guests with infants or toddlers and medical bags sized appropriately for necessary medical equipment.
Livestream Information
For family members and friends who are unable to attend in person, the graduation ceremony will be livestreamed. The livestream will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, May 22, and will remain live through the conclusion of the ceremony.

Weather Information
The weather currently looks favorable for Friday evening. However, Opelika High School has plans in place for inclement weather.
If there is rain only, graduation will continue at Bulldog Stadium, and ponchos will be distributed to graduates.
If severe weather impacts the ceremony, students and guests will be directed to designated safe areas. Updates will be shared through ParentSquare, social media, Senior Google Classroom, and OHS announcements.
Inclement weather information and a weather route map will also be included in the graduation program available at the ceremony.
Ceremony Adjustments if Needed
In the case of impending severe weather, speeches and special music may be moved to the end of the ceremony to allow graduates to cross the stage as efficiently as possible. If the ceremony is delayed, the exact restart time will be communicated via Senior Google Classroom, ParentSquare, social media, and OHS announcements.
