Celebrating National Principals Month: Spotlight on Mr. Joe Ross

As we continue celebrating National Principals Month, Opelika City Schools proudly recognizes Mr. Joe Ross, principal of Carver Primary School, for his 33 years of service in education, 19 of those with Opelika City Schools.
Before becoming a school administrator, Mr. Ross taught middle school math and science, and his love of learning continues to shape the way he leads. He served five years as assistant principal at Opelika Middle School before beginning his 15-year tenure at Carver Primary, where his commitment to both student success and teacher growth has created a culture of excellence.
"I have been blessed to work with some amazing administrators, teachers, and students throughout my career," Ross shared. "What I enjoy most about being a principal is supporting teacher growth and development, and the excitement of students as they learn something new.”
Mr. Ross' guiding belief captures the heart of his work: "Education is an endeavor that can change the trajectory of students and their families." His dedication to helping teachers thrive and students reach their potential continues to make a lasting impact at Carver and across Opelika City Schools.
