Opelika Kindergartners Dream Big at Career on Wheels
Kindergartners from across Opelika City Schools spent the day at Southern Union State Community College for Career on Wheels, a hands-on event designed to help students explore jobs that keep our world moving.
From buses to bucket trucks, students met professionals who use vehicles every day to serve, protect, and build our community. Participants included the Opelika Fire Department, Opelika Police Department, Opelika City Environmental Services, Game and Fish Law Enforcement, the LifeSouth Blood Bank Bus, and Opelika City Schools Transportation Department, among others.
As students rotated through the exhibits, they had the opportunity to climb aboard large vehicles, ask questions, and learn about how each profession helps make the community a better place to live. The event sparked excitement and curiosity as students imagined themselves as future firefighters, healthcare workers, linemen, builders, environmental specialists, and more.
Thank you to Southern Union State Community College and all of our community partners for their time, energy, and dedication to our event!
