Celebrating National Principals Month: Spotlight on Mr. David Carpenter

As part of our National Principals Month celebration, Opelika City Schools proudly recognizes Mr. David Carpenter, principal of Jeter Primary School, for his 25 years of service in education.
Throughout his career, Mr. Carpenter has been dedicated to creating a school environment where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. His favorite moments as principal come each month during the Students of the Month Breakfast, where he has the joy of recognizing student success alongside their families. “My favorite time of the month is when I get the chance to highlight Jeter's Students of the Month with their parents and celebrate student success at our special breakfast,” Carpenter said.
Mr. Carpenter believes that leadership begins with mindset and heart. His guiding motto, “Leadership is an attitude before it is an ability," reflects his approach to fostering a positive, student-centered culture that inspires both his staff and students to lead with integrity and compassion.
