Celebrating National Principals Month: Spotlight on Mrs. Kristen Williams

As we continue celebrating National Principals Month, Opelika City Schools is proud to highlight the incredible leaders who make a difference every day. Today, we recognize Mrs. Kristen Williams, Principal of Opelika Middle School, and the CLAS District 4 Alabama Association of Middle School Principals (AAMSP) Middle School Principal of the Year.
Mrs. Williams has been an educator for 16 years, with nine of those years in Opelika City Schools. She began her career at Opelika High School, where she taught for seven years before transitioning into an administrative role. Now in her second year as principal of OMS, she leads with a deep commitment to students, families, and teachers.
When asked what she enjoys most about serving as principal, Mrs. Williams shared that it is the opportunity to get to know students, partner with families, and support a dedicated team of educators. She believes middle school is a critical time of growth, and she considers it a privilege to help guide students through these years.
Her leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that students should always be at the center of decision-making. At OMS, her focus is on building character and supporting all learners as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.
Please join us in celebrating and thanking Principal Kristen Williams for her outstanding leadership, commitment, and well-deserved recognition as the District 4 AAMSP Middle School Principal of the Year.
