Dear Parents:

Welcome to Southview Primary School! I hope you had a great summer vacation and are ready for the opening of school.

The faculty and staff want to provide your child with the best educational experiences possible. All teachers at Southview are fully certified in the area in which they teach. The Southern Association of Schools and Colleges accredits Southview Primary School.

We encourage your involvement and support because you are your child’s first and most important teacher. It is an awesome responsibility, and one that makes you feel proud. Be sure to maintain contact with your child’s teacher on a regular basis and be supportive of the school wide activities at Southview Primary through your attendance and volunteer efforts. Parents are encouraged to join the Southview Parent Teacher Organization and Parent Advisory Committee.

Southview Primary provides school wide Title I services and has a school wide plan that was written by a committee selected by the principal. The school wide plan will be located in the conference room and information concerning the school wide plan will be presented to parents quarterly at PTO/PAC meetings and at the annual Title I meeting. The plan will be evaluated in the spring through fall of each year by looking at test data and survey results. These services are provided with federal funds and support the learning of all students, especially at-risk and low-income students.

This handbook was written to provide you with information about school policies and procedures. It contains important information that you will need to refer to throughout the year.
