Seventh and eighth-grade students are invited to OMS on Friday, August 6, at 2pm to pick up their schedules before the first day of classes.  Students will be directed to the appropriate team areas to meet the team teachers and pick up the schedule.

OMS welcomes sixth-grade students and their parents on August 6, 2010, at 10am in the auditorium.  Students will experience a general overview of the school, meet their teachers, and receive a schedule from their teachers. 

All new students to OMS this summer must provide updated residency records.  OMS will be dedicating two weeks to "reconnect" with the school (June 1-4 and July 19-23).  The purpose is to verify residency and to make sure we have the most current contact information for your child.  Please bring two proofs of residency (such as utility bills) to the school during those times.  Failure to update records before August 6, 2010, may result in delaying getting a schedule for your child.

Opelika Middle School has been recognized by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools as a 2010 Banner School.  This prestigious recognition was awarded to only 12 schools across the state.  The award recognizes schools that serve as outstanding educational models for other schools across the state.  Congratulations to all OMS students and teachers for this recognition!
