The OHS Choral Department will host an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, May 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Choral Room. All students who are interested in auditioning for Impressions, Ovations and the Chamber Choirs are invited to attend. Sign up sheets will be posted at the event for you to sign up for an audition time. You may also sign up for auditions in the guidance office. Auditions will be held by Allyson Petrone, OHS Choral Director on May 31 and June 1.

A Month of Saturdays (AMOS) for 2nd term students will begin on Saturday, June 2 at 8:00 a.m. If you have more than 10 absences but fewer than 20 and have not been suspended out of school, you may redeem credits through AMOS. Please check with your teachers concerning your absences. If you have questions, see Mrs. Springer in the media center.

The media center will be open this summer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. during June 5-28. Books from the summer reading list will be available for check-out on a first come, first served basis.

Applications are available in guidance for students to attend a leadership program in Korea. There is a $25 application fee and students must pay a $500 program fee. If selected for the program, students receive room, board, airfare, and educational materials. Applications are due Monday, May 21.

Opelika High Theatre Society DVD’s for the fall play, the Trumbauer one-act play, and the spring musical are available for pre-order. Each one is $10. See Mr. Tidwell in Room 113. Guitar concert DVD’s are also available for $10.
