Welcome to Northside Intermediate School
Principal Chris Dark Northside School is committed to provide instruction that is designed to challenge our students and promote learning in an exciting format. We are proud of the curriculum we have to offer our students. Our faculty is very enthusiastic about our fourth year of implementing the Alabama Reading Initiative. We have numerous computers with Internet access available to our students. Students receive instruction in art and music as well as physical education. A school-wide enrichment program is provided to enhance our instructional program. Parents are encouraged to become involved in our school program. Our Parent-Teacher Organization is very active and works cooperatively with the school for the welfare of all students and staff members. Communication between home and school is very important to your child’s success. We strongly urge all of you to monitor your child’s grades and behavior. By supporting our teachers and insisting that your children are accountable for their performance, success will be inevitable. The faculty of Northside School is ever aware that we serve as role models to our students and that we strive, at all times, to project an image of competence, self-worth, and professionalism. In keeping with the philosophy of Northside School, teachers are encouraged to be innovative in their instruction so that students are actively engaged in the learning process. Assisting students in understanding the integration of all subject areas is essential. Using a wide variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet individual and group needs will ensure that all students experience success. Northside School is a child-centered school with a tremendous amount of focus on success, high expectations, and feelings of self-worth.
