PERSONAL NOTE
Opelika Parks and Recreation Director, Bill Harrelson , has announced his retirement effective June 1st. Mr. Harrelson retire with 38 years working for the City of Opelika recreation department. He was responsible for many things while with the recreation department, West Ridge ball park, The miracle field, Floral park, the reconditioning of Moore stadium and perhaps the biggest project the opening of the 32 million dollar Sportsplex and Aquatics center. I personally want to thank Mr. Harrelson for allowing me to be a part of the department since I was 12 years old, mainly helping run the Dixie Boys baseball league. Good luck and I hope you and your wife have many great years ahead.
