Melvin Oliiver was draft choice by San Francisco in 2006.

His carrer highlights include the following:

NFL Carrier:

2006:
• Played in 16 games with 14 starts at defensive end as a rookie, recording 50 tackles and one sack. Did not start vs. Philadelphia (9-24) or at New Orleans (12-3) when team opened in a 3-4 set.
• Made first NFL start at defensive tackle at Arizona (9-10) and posted two solo tackles.
• Started at right defensive end vs. Oakland (10-8) and posted three tackles while also recovering a fumble for his first career touchdown. His touchdown came off a fumble return in fourth quarter when he picked up a loose football on a muffed forward lateral and ran 12 yards into end zone. Became the first 49ers rookie defensive lineman to ever score a touchdown.
• Started at right defensive end at Denver (12-31) and finished with four tackles and his first career sack.

Will Herring

Will Herring was born August 23, 1983, to Ron and Libba Herring. He has an older sister, Laura (graduated in 1999 from Opelika), and a younger brother, Rusty (graduated in 2003 from Opelika)

As a child, Will grew up watching and playing sports. He loved basketball and baseball as a child and started playing both sports for the Opelika Parks and Recreation. He started playing football at a very young age and ironically did not like the sport. He stopped playing football in the 5th and 6th grade to start lifting weights for the late Bill Curry Sr., while continuing to play basketball and baseball.
